’Also, I want to thank my Uber driver- I sold my car before moving across the country to the big city last year, and the shelter is a town over. I had to pick Goose up before 5PM yesterday, and couldn't ask any of my colleagues to leave work early with me. (Goose's vet is 2 blocks over, thankfully). My Uber driver who was dropping me off offered to wait with me. She waited an hour because she wanted to meet Goose, and was worried we wouldn't find a pet-friendly Uber home. One of the kindest gestures, and I am truly grateful. I made sure to thank her 1000 times, and tip her for the rides she may have missed in that hour. Truly, so much good has already come from adopting Goose.’

[My dog](https://www.reddit.com/r/husky/comments/6g8ugl/my_girl/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) is getting up there in years (13-14 y/o) and it would be nice to have a saved post for the future. With some kind of compensation for your time of course, 10 bucks to you & 10 to the SPCA or whatever animal charity of your choice. Like if someone made a post, tagged you and provided proof of a receipt and a donation for your venmo. Or something, idk. If you did one, I'd assume that would open the floodgates and thousands of people would want one and you might not have the time’

’Thanks. Theres a few more pics in my post history. Nothing all that great, but I'd make the effort to make a gif or take good pics if I knew I was getting a Schnoodle. She was somehow abandoned and I adopted her when she was allegedly 6 (seemed a lot younger, but the vets said 6 y/o). Its gotta be going on 7-8 years since I've adopted her, but I dont want to look and know for sure how old she is. Because then I would worry shes getting pretty damn old. She acts like a puppy still, so I don't ever have to consider that shes an old girl as long as I dont know her age for sure. That pic, I was holding a Starburst to get her attention, which she absolutely loves. She would choose Starbursts, Welch's fruit snacks or sour patch kids over a steak if it came down to it. If I start unwrapping a Starburst, she sits next to me and starts waving her paw. "Hey. Hey. Over here". That's why her eyes are looking up at something, I was holding it next to my phone. I used to eat so much candy, tearing through a bag of SPK while playing my Switch, but now I barely do because I know shes gonna want some too, and I dont want to overdo it with candy. Once every 3 days or so. I cant be a jerk and sit there eating candy while it's her favorite thing in the world and not give her any. So instead we both get some every couple days. Make sure she brushes afterwards’

’Be careful. My pit was super attached to me during my pregnancy, and then when the kids (twins) were born, he totally threw me over for them. They took precedence over everything. His entire life, he slept on my bed. After the twins were born, he slept on the floor of the nursery. If they were crying, he nudged me toward them. If they were dirty during the night, he woke me up to change them EVEN IF THEY HADN'T WOKEN UP THEMSELVES. They could take rawhides, bones, or food out of his mouth. They dressed him up like a superhero and he would wear hats or capes for hours. God, I miss that dog. :(’

’This one brought tears to my eyes. My one rescue was abandoned at our church the week before Christmas seven years ago. He was maybe ten months old. Every time another car showed up for church, he ran up and looked in. He was sure his people must have accidentally forgotten him. They had to be coming back. Our church fronted a four lane. I didn't want him killed. I took him home, looked for owners, checked local vets. He was professionally groomed, neutered, but not chipped. He really fits description and pictures of a wheaten terrier. We kept him. We have a farm, and after finally teaching him that he can't kill chickens, he LOVES chore time. He is so proud of himself. He looks for mice, and chases the goats and the bull. We hope the bull continues to have a sense of humor, because Hank's bravado is bigger than his common sense... ❤️’

’I remember when we finally brought my boy home. He'd been gone almost 8 months, and it was winter by the time we got him back. We were sure there was no hope, but then we got the call that he'd been caught! By some miracle he was in decent health and not injured; just shell-shocked from all that had happened and the journey home (he's doing much better now, this was almost a year ago!) When we finally got to the house, the only dog we let in the room to greet him was our old family Rat Terrier. We figured she'd recognize him, they'd lived together for about a year prior to this, but she'd always been so aloof we didn't expect much of a response (part of why we let her stay, we didn't want anything to overwhelm him). Imagine our surprise when, the moment we walked in, she ran up, little tail stub wagging away, sniffing him all over and whining a bit like "Where have you been!?!?!?" So sweet to see, especially from a dog as standoffish as her! At that, my boy started to relax a bit, like he finally knew he was home. Such good dogs, the both of them.’
there's a feeling that we get when we are lost, out on our own
like nothing's ever gonna be the same - we're all alone . . .
when days turn into weeks, n sometimes months are passing by,
our world seems changed forever, but we don't know how or why....
but if you are a lucky one, you'll find a way back home
